Customer care

Frequently asked questions

The practical side of the house: shipping, returns, sizing, care, and payment, answered plainly.

Shipping

How much is shipping?

Nationwide Tracked Shipping is $5.99 flat across the USA — every order, no minimums.

Is shipping free?

No. Shipping is $5.99, flat, on every order; it does not vary by weight, by state, or by how much is in your bag. We would rather price the garments honestly than fold the postage into them.

Where do you deliver?

All 50 states and Washington, D.C., including PO boxes. We do not currently deliver to APO or FPO addresses, to U.S. territories, or outside the United States.

Do you ship internationally?

Not at present. We deliver within the United States only. Checkout is set up to reject addresses outside our coverage; if one slips through, we cancel and refund the order in full before dispatch.

How quickly do orders dispatch?

Orders are prepared and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Order before 3:00pm Eastern Time on a business day and it usually leaves the same or the next business day; orders placed after the cutoff, or on a weekend or holiday, are treated as placed the next business day. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.

When will my order arrive?

Transit takes an estimated 3 to 6 business days from dispatch, which puts most orders at the door an estimated 4 to 8 business days after checkout. Treat every window as an estimate; carriers set their own pace once a parcel is in their network.

Your Order

How do I track my order?

Every order ships tracked, no exceptions. Your tracking number arrives by email as soon as your order is dispatched, and you can follow it any time on our Track your order page. We ship with established national carriers, including USPS, UPS, and FedEx; the carrier handling your order is named in that email. Allow a little time for the first scan, as carriers sometimes collect before they register.

My tracking has not updated. What now?

Tracking often pauses between carrier facilities and then catches up in one jump, and the first scan can lag dispatch, as carriers sometimes collect before they register. If your tracking shows no movement for several days, email customercare@edwardbramley.com with your order number and we will take it up with the carrier directly.

Can I change my delivery address?

Before dispatch, yes, at no cost: email customercare@edwardbramley.com immediately with your order number and the corrected address. Once a parcel is moving, we cannot redirect it. If a parcel comes back to us as undeliverable, we will contact you with two options: reshipment for a new $5.99 charge, or a refund of the merchandise.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Yes, as long as your order has not been dispatched. Orders move within 1 to 2 business days, so email customercare@edwardbramley.com as soon as you can. Once a parcel is with the carrier it can no longer be canceled, but the 60-day return window applies once it is delivered.

Tracking says delivered, but nothing has arrived.

Occasionally a carrier scans a parcel as delivered shortly before it actually turns up. Allow a day, and check with household members, neighbors, building staff, and any parcel room. If it still has not appeared, email customercare@edwardbramley.com and we will open a trace with the carrier and see the matter through.

Returns and Exchanges

How long do I have to make a return?

You have 60 days from the day your order is delivered, counted from the carrier's delivery scan, and there are no restocking fees, ever. Start the return inside the window and you are covered; your return authorization will confirm how long you have to post it. Email customercare@edwardbramley.com and we will take it from there.

How do I start a return?

Email customercare@edwardbramley.com with your order number and the items you are returning. We reply within 1 business day with your return authorization and the return address. We do not publish the return address, because unauthorized parcels cannot be matched to orders reliably. Send the items back with a tracked service of your choice, and keep your postage receipt and tracking number until the refund lands.

What condition does a return need to be in?

The condition it arrived in: unworn beyond trying for fit, unwashed, unaltered, with tags attached. Original packaging is appreciated but never required. Trying a jacket on indoors, the way you would in a fitting room, never counts against you.

Is there anything you cannot take back?

A few things: items worn outdoors, washed, or altered; items with detached tags or missing components; items marked final sale at the time of purchase; and gift cards. None of this applies to faulty, damaged, or incorrect items, which we put right at our cost.

Do you charge restocking fees?

We do not. The refund you are quoted is the refund you receive.

Who pays for return postage?

For a change of mind, return postage is yours, and we do not currently offer prepaid labels; the original $5.99 shipping charge is not refunded on change-of-mind returns. When an item is faulty, damaged, or not what you ordered, every cost is ours, including the postage back to us.

When will my refund arrive?

Once your return arrives, it is inspected within 2 business days and the refund is issued to your original payment method the same day. Banks can take up to 8 business days to show it.

Do you offer exchanges?

Yes: a different size or color, for any reason, subject to stock. Email customercare@edwardbramley.com and we will arrange it; the replacement ships to you at our cost. When timing matters, the quicker route is usually a return for refund alongside a fresh order, so the replacement ships without waiting on the inbound parcel.

My order arrived damaged, faulty, or wrong. What do I do?

We are sorry about that. Email customercare@edwardbramley.com within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo, and we will put it right: the correct item or a replacement, or a full refund, at your preference and at no cost to you.

The Garments

What sizes do you carry?

The size run varies by style. Each product page lists every size we cut for that piece, and the size guide gives the body chest measurement, in inches, that each size is cut to fit.

I am between sizes. Which should I take?

Take the larger of the two. Every product page carries a size guide with body chest measurements in inches — measure around the fullest part of your chest, tape level and arms relaxed, then read across. And you have 60 days to be sure.

How should each style fit?

Each cut is described on its product page. As a rule of the range: overcoats are cut with room for a jacket underneath, puffers and parkas run roomier for layering, and half-zips and sweaters sit closer to the body.

What are the garments made of?

Technical synthetic fabrics, across the whole range. Full fiber content is listed on the care label.

Are the jackets waterproof?

We make no waterproof or water-resistance claims. Each product page describes the fabric factually, and none of the range is intended for standing rain.

How warm are these pieces?

We do not attach warmth ratings or temperature ranges to the garments. Each product page describes the construction factually — quilted, fleece-lined, cable-knit — and the sensible way to choose is by how you intend to wear it and what you will wear beneath it.

How do I wash and care for them?

The care label on the garment governs; where anything here disagrees with it, follow the label. As general guidance for synthetics: wash cold on a gentle cycle or spot-clean, no bleach, dry low or line dry, and keep the iron away from the shell.

Will the color match the photographs?

We photograph every piece as accurately as we can. Screens render color differently, so minor variation between the image and the garment in hand can occur. If a color is not what you expected, the 60-day return window applies.

Payment

Which payment methods do you accept?

Major credit and debit cards, and the digital wallets shown at checkout. Payment is taken at checkout through Shopify's payment infrastructure, and all prices are in U.S. dollars.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes. Payment is processed through Shopify's payment infrastructure; full card numbers pass to the payment processor and are not held on our systems.

Do you charge sales tax?

Where required by law. Sales tax is calculated and displayed at checkout before you pay; prices on the site exclude it.

The House

Who is Edward Bramley?

A name rather than a person: Edward Bramley is the name the house trades under. The house was founded in New York, is based in New York, and sells jackets and winter wear. We chose the name because it sounds like what we sell.

Do you have a store I can visit?

We are online only; there is no showroom, counter service, or order pickup. Our office is at 245 Park Avenue, 33rd Floor, New York, NY 10167, United States. Please do not send returns there either; the return address is provided by email with your return authorization.

How do I reach you?

Email customercare@edwardbramley.com. A person replies within 1 business day. Our hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm Eastern, and email is our only support channel.
